** SAATCHI GALLERY **

BACKGROUND

The Saatchi Gallery was founded in 1985 by Charles Saatchi to show work from a collection of contemporary art that comprises over 2000 paintings, sculptures and installations. Its aim is to introduce new art to a wider audience. The gallery has an international programme focusing on young British artists, and has featured an explosion of exciting and innovative work by Jake and Dinos Chapman, Damien Hirst, Gary Hume, Sarah Lucas, Jenny Saville, Rachel Whiteread and many other artists who have gone on to receive international acclaim. The gallery is currently located at the County Hall on London's South Bank.
